Further information
In 55 BC, Julius Caesar first landed in Kent, and following two centuries of shrewd diplomacy and brutal war, the Romans had established themselves in what is now England and Wales. This detailed map shows Roman Britain between 150 and 300 AD - the height of the Roman expansion. The map shows the Coloniae, major towns and forts, the primary roads, and also includes an inset map of Hadrian’s Wall, and the vexilla (banners) of the three main Roman Legions stationed in Provincia Britannia.
Please note that the frame shown is for demonstrative purposes only and is not included.
